Normal vs Abnormal in 2020

What is normal? What is abnormal? Who defines the two or better yet what distinguishes the two? According to the Webster dictionary, normal is defined as conforming to a standard; usual, typical, or expected. Abnormal is defined as deviating from what is normal or usual, typically in a way that is undesirable or worrying.

The world we live in today has its own normal. The household you live in has its own normal. The company you work for has its own normal. The family you grew up with had their own normal and the list goes on. What may be normal to you may not necessarily be normal to another. As defined above, normal is creating a standard in which others choose to follow.

While spending a little time meditating on the word and being silent to hear what the spirit of the Lord was saying to me, I heard, what the world considered to be normal and successful, I never approved! It was a selah moment for me. I said say what now, in my southern communication. Response yes! What you considered to be successful in the world was not measured by my success. My success is when you honor Matthew 6:33. Matthew 6:33 states, But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. What we have done is sought after things, status, popularity, man, churches, and accolades. We are more entertained by entertainment and not the Word. We have become a world that rejoices in the professional basketball games, concerts, theatres, award ceremonies, title statuses, possession of things without seeking my kingdom and my righteousness! We have become so consumed with reality shows that we have lost sight of my reality! I said my God!

Abnormal is defined as deviating from the normal. Yahweh has decided to create an abnormal experience to man so that the true normal can live again for man. He has removed the external distractions to create an internal attraction! The things we crave take precedence before Yahweh and His presence. Life has become a ritual without substance, signs and wonders. Generations are lost. The earth is moaning and groaning. The elderly look in amazement as to how far away from the truth our world has become. Families are divided because of jobs and the chase of the awe mighty dollar! Wake up people of Yahweh and restore your family. Get back to prayer and worship. Get back to reading your bible. Get back to mediation. Get back to studying to show thyself approved. Get back to FaceTime face to face communication. Don’t allow the memes to be your identification. Don’t allow the world to teach you what scripture is intended to show you. The true identity of life is to live it completing the assignment of Yahweh.

In the beginning the voice of the Lord in the wind communicated with Adam and Eve in the cool of the day. Direction for life was given by Yahweh under the application of Elohim. Specific instructions were given on how to live life freely without limitations. There was no evil. As Yahweh previously declared ALL THINGS WERE GOOD! This was normal. There was complete harmony in the garden. The sin of the serpent was there but because sin was not poisoned to human existence as of yet, there was an immaculate environment that welcomed Yahweh’s presence without hidden agendas. Instructions were provided to not eat from a specific tree and if you did you would surely die. The wages of sin is death. As we fast forward in scripture we read that Eve was beguiled by the serpent. Because of this behavior, Eve, Adam and the serpent were both dealt curses. Hence the new normal is created.

As His voice approached, Adam and Eve hid themselves from the presence of God in the trees. Where there is sin, there is a hiding away from Yahweh’s presence. Yahweh called out to Adam and asked where art thou? Once he answered he proclaimed that they were naked; meaning uncovered and exposed. The spiritual covering of Yahweh was removed and they were exposed. So in return they created their own covering and hid from His presence. What was once normal has now become abnormal. What once was a covering has now become a fear. The beginning of fear creates actions contrary to the normal ways of life spent with Yahweh.

As we progress to 2020 we live in a world with hidden agendas. We love in a world where sin is rampart. The voice of Yahweh is often silenced due to the cares of the world and the chase to be on top. The word has lost its flavor. The voice of Yahweh isn’t inviting anymore. There is no reverence for Yahweh anymore. There isn’t a consistent invitation for Yahweh’s voice to instruct the people on how to live from day to day. Because we are still eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil it is separating us from the love of Yahweh. We are hiding ourselves from His mere presence in all that we do. We run to the things that caused us separation. Because Yahweh is a jealous Yahweh, He will get the glory in it ALL! Where there is sin; there will be death. Where there is repentance there will be eternal life. Where there is sin; there will be consequences. The old serpent, the devil is still beguiling people today.

What is your normal and what is your abnormal? When the things of 2020 have been removed from your life as your normal, if everyday started with Yahweh, you can still live at peace because your origin is derived from the decisions and movements of Yahweh in every area of your life. If your life revolves around the cares of this world, then you yearn for the things of the natural and not the supernatural. Your life is void and dark without form. Where the spirit of the Lord is there is life and liberty and no matter what is taken from you, you adjust to the normal.

Dare not to go back to the normal of 2019 because 2020 has a new normal and the new normal involves more of Christ centered relationships, seeking the face of Yahweh, obedience to the truth of His word, immediate repentance, humbleness, and worship! Normal is allowing the voice of Yahweh to consume you and direct you. It is allowing His spirit (voice) to walk with you in the cool of the day. It is adhering to His word. It is spreading the good news to others. It is owing no man but to love Him. It is living a life that is set apart and Holy! Choose Yahweh’s normal and not the worlds normal!
