Chosen To Carry…

One evening my husband and I were in the garage at the same time and randomly he said out loud, “Yahweh please give me one more son!” I didn’t respond verbally; however I came into the house and went into our bedroom to pray. I said, “Yahweh please grant my husband the desires of his heart.”

Months earlier, even years earlier our son Cp said on numerous occasions Yahweh I want a brother. When his second sister was born he said another girl. Despite his current desire, he loves his sisters with all his heart. It doesn’t stop there, he would make it known on several occasions, I wish I had a brother. Yet again, Yahweh please grant our son the desires of his heart.

Our first baby girl Boom Boom would make comments like, mommy I want a baby brother. She even went as far as to make plans for her brother. There were times her and Cp would get together and debate about who he would sleep with and play with when he get here. It was amazing to watch their passion for a little brother.

I went to the Woman Thou Art Loosed Conference and while I was there I was led to write some things down that I wanted to happen by 10/2020. Needless to say one of my declarations was to have another son. I remember one evening saying to myself I need to take a pregnancy test because something is different. Sure enough I took the test and it was positive. I immediately told my husband and showed him the test. There was no letter involved this time. Same response as always, Tikealia really??? Stop playing! Wow!!!

At our first appointment we heard the baby’s heartbeat and tears rolled down my eyes. It was at that point that it was so surreal to us. We decided we didn’t want to tell the kids or anyone else right away until after our first ultrasound. We got up and got dressed as a family to head to the hospital for our very first ultrasound at 12 weeks. We told the kids we had a surprise for them and that was all they knew. When I laid on the bed and the ultrasound tech turned the lights off and turned on the screen in front of us, Cp and Boom Boom watched in amazement. Boom Boom said mom are you ok? I said yes. Then Cp said mom are you having a baby. My husband said yes kids. This is the surprise we had for you. Cp said is it a boy? It was at that moment the ultrasound tech said normally this early we can’t tell, and immediately his genitals showed up as a boy. She said well, there is no denying that he is a boy. Once again tears rolled down my face because yet again Yahweh had answered our prayers! Everyone was so excited. We left the appointment full of joy and in awe of Yahweh. It was at that moment we announced the pregnancy and the gender to the family.

From that moment on my pregnancy journey continued. We were told that the placenta was in the wrong spot and if it did not move there was a possibility that I would have to have a c-section delivery. Never had one and never wanted to have one. The hubby and I along with other prayer warriors we believed in prayed and agreed that the placenta would move to its rightful position. The very next appointment it had already moved. Thank you Yahweh yet again for answered prayer.

As months went on we were blessed with a beautiful baby shower hosted by a great first family we have grown to love, cherish and appreciate. We were showered with love, games, food, fellowship and gifts from our chapel family, our People’s Church family, friends and couples from Marriage Care that my husband and I facilitated. It was overwhelmingly beautiful and heartfelt. Majority of the men there were pastors. We were surrounded by the cloth as the old folks would say. Each one of them was led to say a special prayer for our family and our unborn child. Even though our blood family wasn’t there, Yahweh surrounded us with our believer family.

We are trusting Yahweh to give us our son’s name because he is a gift and a promise of many answered prayers given to us by God. This pregnancy is different. I have to go to a prenatal center for consistent ultrasounds due to the placenta being in the wrong place earlier in pregnancy as well as my regular doctor appointments. The hubby and I decided that it was best I stop working and nurture this pregnancy as well as be home for our one year old throughout the day while our eldest kids were in school. I had to eat only what I craved. I was more tired with this pregnancy and wanted to sleep a lot. He was very heavy at 35 weeks and on throughout the pregnancy. Due to how things were going, I knew there was a great call on his life and I am glad I am chosen to carry him. This baby is assigned to the Williams family.

Toot Toot has a special bond with her brother. She kiss my stomach, play with my stomach and even lay prostrate over my stomach from time to time. She says baby. She has her moment with him daily. There is something to be said when the entire family is excited for the arrival of your family’s new addition.

Believe in the power of prayer. Believe in the power of agreement. Never loose hope on a promise from Yahweh. Women be proud to carry your gifts from Yahweh!

My womb was designed to carry, nurture, protect, feed, incubate and birth such a child as this for such a time as this… baby boy we await your arrival this June and are excited to meet you.

Gifts, decorations, photo with Pastor Scott and the host and hostess of the baby shower…

Never take for granted the ability to carry a child for 9-10 months. It is a gift to be cherished. Ladies we are incubators; carriers of life. You are chosen to carry!
